[MLP] Luna, I'm sorry by CheckerboardPrincess [MLP] Luna, I'm sorry by CheckerboardPrincess
Luna, I'm sorry. I failed you little sister... and this is the result. I didn't reach out to you before... but now, I will. Forever, as long as I can see your symbol in the moon.

Someday, I pray you can forgive me.

Harmless MLP:Fim/Sailor Moon fanart.

Will be available (hopefully) as an 11x17 print at Anime Conji in San Diego this March.

Leftovers may go on sale online, after the event.

Done in SAI and Photoshop!
Work is © K. Austin
MLP:FiM © Hasbro

Comments have been turned off because my artwork is not your religious platform, nor a platform to expound on the sexuality of My Little freaking Ponies.

It's beautifully moving to see the young Princess Celestia reaching out to her sister, no doubt crying. Interesting that Nightmare Moon's closed eyes seem to echo some of the sentiment, if I'm seeing it right. The mahou-shoujou take on Celestia's outfit is gorgeous and matches the old story pretty nicely. Seeing the Elements of Harmony in the staff's orb makes me think of a few different series, their themes nicely blended.

The shadows and colors for Celestia create an eerie kind of lighting, and you did a great job on her pose and balance as she reaches up. Plus you didn't miss a beat with the wind on that cold night. There are a few places where the lightening and darkening come out a little uneven, but only one of the three is visible without scrutiny. The start and constellations are quite pretty (lots of variety, plus I was trying to see if you'd written/drawn anything with them), and the moon halo was a great touch too.

Isn't she supposed to have wings on her back?

In the anime, "Cosmos" (supposedly) was depicted with wings. But in most of Naoko's manga images of Sailor Cosmos, she is wearing a cape. But if I had included the cape, I personally felt the image would have looked awkward, so I opted to have Celestia's hair stand in for the cape (originally I was going to give her the heart-odangos that Cosmos has).

Great work. Certain bronies have selective hearing and conveniently forget to hear the word "reluctant" when Celestia states her feelings on banishing her then-evil sister. People are such dunder mifflins.
